This dog stood there posing regally like this for about a minute, presumably waiting for his people. But I like to think that he had some awareness of the beauty of his surroundings, and the solemnity of the moment. It was such a gorgeous fall day, one of those where everyone was speaking in hushed tones, and looking around with big smiles and expressions of wonder. At Sognsvann, one of the many forested lakes that surround central Oslo.
A very cool autumn morning in the forest above Oslo. This lake, called Skjennungen, is in the wilderness several kilometers up a trail from the nearest road, but just minutes outside of the city.
